You Have a Choice Today
"And anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire." – Revelation 20:15
The Bible does not shy away from the reality of judgment. For those who are unsaved, Scripture lays out what comes next. It speaks of eternal separation from God in a place of punishment called the lake of fire, a place not designed for people but for the devil and his demons.
Jesus describes it as a place of torment, regret, and sorrow, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. This is not a scare tactic. This is God’s clear warning. Psalm 10:13 says the wicked tell themselves God will not demand an account, but Scripture says He will.
At the great white throne judgment, the trial will be over. The verdict will already be set. There will be no jury, no defense, no appeal. For those who have rejected Christ, the face of Jesus as Judge will be the last thing they see before stepping into eternity. For the believer, His face is the beginning of heaven. For the unbeliever, it is the foretaste of hell.
But here is the good news. You have a choice right now.
God’s heart is not to frighten you into surrender. His desire is to save you. If you are alive today, it means you have been given time to turn to Jesus. You can experience His grace instead of facing His judgment. You can have your name written in the book of life.
You do not have to stand before God someday relying on your good deeds or hoping your failures will be overlooked. Because of Jesus, you can stand forgiven and free.
So ask yourself today, what am I choosing? Will I trust Christ and receive His free pardon, or will I face Him as Judge one day and hear the words no one wants to hear, “I never knew you”?
You are only one heartbeat away from your appointment with Jesus. Make sure you are ready. Choose grace today. Choose life today. Because of Jesus, you do not have to get what you deserve. You can receive what only He can give.
