Saturate Your Life with Christ
"And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts... Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly... And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus" - Colossians 3:15-17
Jesus never meant to be a weekend guest in your life. He came to take up residence. And when He moves in, He wants to saturate everything. Your decisions. Your thoughts. Your relationships. Your attitude. Your words. Your work. Nothing gets left untouched.
Letting Christ dwell in you richly is not about fitting Him into a few spare moments. It is about making Him the center of it all. Paul lays out what that looks like. First, let the peace of Christ rule in your heart. That word rule means to act like an umpire, calling the shots. If peace does not rule, something else will. Bitterness. Anxiety. Pride. You cannot live for Christ and let chaos sit on the throne of your heart.
Next, Paul says to let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Not casually or occasionally. Richly. Let Scripture take root, not just visit your mind on Sunday morning. When God’s word is deep in you, it changes how you speak, how you think, how you worship, and how you respond.
Whatever you do, do it in the name of Jesus. That means all of it matters. Whether you are preaching or parenting, mopping floors or managing a business, it is all under His name. If you would not do it with Jesus in the room, you probably should not be doing it at all.
Corrie ten Boom once said, “Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?” That question hits at the core. Is Jesus driving your life or just tagging along in case of an emergency?
What are you rooted in today? Because whatever you are planted in will show up in your fruit. Make sure Christ is not just around your life but fully at the center of it. Let Him rule. Let Him dwell. And let Him define every part of who you are.
