The Miracle Working Business

“Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, ‘My child, your sins are forgiven.’” – Mark 2:5

Mark 2 shows us a story of four friends willing to do whatever it took to get their friend in front of Jesus. But did it pay off?

Mark 2:5 says, Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, ‘My child, your sins are forgiven.’” Then in verse 11, Jesus said to the man, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!”

Jesus healed him spiritually, and Jesus healed him physically. And it all began with four friends who SAW him as God saw him. They showed him the solution to his greatest problem, and they did whatever it took to get their friend to Jesus.

Let me tell you why their example is so important for us. Let me tell you why you and I should be doing whatever it takes to get our friends to Jesus: because Jesus is still in the miracle-working business.

Do you believe that? Listen, I’ve seen it! He is still in the healing business. He is still in the saving business. There is nothing that God cannot do. This miracle happened because four men believed. That is why Jesus healed this man. Not because he believed, but because his friends believed.

Look at verse 5 again, Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, ‘My child, your sins are forgiven.’” Jesus saw THEIR FAITH.

So the question is, how do we love much and serve the God who saved us? We serve God by serving others. But this doesn’t happen if you don’t believe in the God you are serving. This doesn’t happen if you aren’t eagerly and urgently leading others to Him.

Do you have faith that He is still in the miracle-working business? Do you trust that He can still heal? That He can still save? Jesus is still doing miracle work. And He wants you to bring those around you to Him so He can show you just how powerful His love truly is!
