4-D Experience

“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities— His external power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” – Romans 1:20

When I was 18 years old, I graduated high school, and my parents gifted me a trip to Israel for graduation. They didn’t send me to Cancun with my friends. They didn’t send me to Disney Land. Instead, they said, “this boy needs to walk where Jesus walked,” and so they brought me to the Holy Land.

To be honest, I wasn’t excited about the trip when they initially told me about it, and I wasn’t even very interested in going at the time.

But now, looking back, I can honestly say that trip was by far, the greatest gift they’ve ever given me. And I say that because, on that trip, the Bible came to life in my heart. I went from reading the Bible in 2-D to now experiencing the Bible in 4-D. And now, I’m 42 years old and I still haven’t gotten over what God did in my life during those 9 days.

That first trip to the Holy Land revolutionized my life and my walk with Jesus in a powerful way, and because of that, one of my favorite things to do now is to bring people back to the Holy Land with me so they too can experience what I experienced 24 years ago.

Have you ever had an experience like this? Maybe for you, it wasn’t a trip to Israel, but it was still something that changed your life and brought the Bible to life for you. It could be a moment when you trusted God with your finances when you had no idea how you were going to pay the bills, but you still faithfully gave a tithe.

Maybe it was when you lost something—your job, a relationship, a valuable possession you worked so hard for—and only God could salvage it. And so you had to trust Him to do what only He could do. These 4-D moments can come in a lot of ways. And while for me it was an amazing experience to get to visit the places spoken of in the Bible, this is not the only way you can experience one of these moments.

Have you had a 4-D moment? Or are you still waiting for yours? Ask God to show you how real He is. If you do, be careful; He just might do exactly that!
