The God of Peace

“Now may the God of peace— who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesu, the great Shepherd of the sheep… may He equip you with all you need for doing His will. May He produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to Him.” – Hebrews 13:20-21

I want to ask you a question. Are you worried about something today? Is there something in your life—your health, your finances, your job, a loved one, or any number of things—that you are worried about today?

Now let me ask you this, are you a child of God? Are you a child of the King? Do you know the Prince of Peace?

Then why are you allowing the devil to place the stronghold of worry in your life?

Look at what Hebrews 13:20-21 says, “Now may the God of peace— who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesu, the great Shepherd of the sheep… may He equip you with all you need for doing His will. May He produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to Him.”

Do you know why He is described as “the God of peace?” Because His presence brings peace.

I’ve discovered that the more time I spend with the God of peace, the more peace I have. And the less time I spend with the God of peace, the less peace I have. When trust moves in, worry moves out. And when worry moves in, trust moves out. Worry is our announcement that trust has moved out.

Has your trust moved in or moved out? Are you consumed with trust or worry? The God you worship is a God of peace. And He wants you to have direct access to that peace. But if you want peace, you have to spend time with the one who is peace. How much time are you spending with the Prince of Peace in your daily life? It might just be what is missing and the reason you are worrying.
