A Call for Obedience

“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:7-9

As we looked at yesterday, Jesus came so that we can live life more abundantly (John 10:10). Jesus does not want to make our lives worse, He wants to make them BETTER. As a believer, your life can be better than you ever imagined it.

Countless verses through Scripture point to the things Jesus can do for you. Ephesians 3:20 reminds us of this when it says, “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to His power at work within us.”

Jesus wants to bless you. He wants to give you a life greater than anything you have ever known. But He does require something of you first. And that is obedience. Jesus wants you to obey Him first, then you will reap the blessings. Galatians 6:7 says, Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.”

When you are obedient to God, you will be blessed. When you are disobedient, you will be punished. It really is just that simple. But God is a loving God, He doesn’t want to punish you. He does that so that you will return to a way of obedience because He knows what your life can be when you are obedient.

Is God speaking to you right now? Is there an area of your life, or maybe multiple areas of your life, where you know you are not living obediently to Him? Now is the time to change that. God wants to bless you. He wants you to live life more abundantly. But it starts with obedience. Today, God is calling you to live an obedient life.

I bet you have no idea what can change in your life just by you being obedient. Don’t believe me? Why don’t you try it?
