Walk By Faith

“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.” – Hebrews 11:6

Yesterday, we talked about Joshua and the legacy he left. Joshua is a biblical character that had an entire book of the Bible named after him. Some legacy, right? What made Joshua special, though, was not that he thought about his legacy. He wasn’t sitting around thinking about how he could be remembered after he died.

Instead, Joshua just lived a life that was focused on fulfilling his destiny. So, how was Joshua able to leave such a lasting legacy without even thinking about it? Specifically, he did two things: he walked by faith and he obeyed the Lord.

Today, we are going to talk about walking by faith. Faith is the foundation of our relationship with God. Think about it, you have never seen God. You did not see Jesus die on the cross. We have the Bible, but there are many books that are fiction. So what says the Bible isn’t? Faith. If you have a relationship with God, it is based on faith.

Hebrews 11:6 says, “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.”

Did you catch that first part? Without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. If you want to live a life that turns into a legacy, if you want to impact others through your walk with God, it starts with FAITH. Faith is the things we hope for; it is the assurance of that which we cannot see.

We might not see God, but we are sure that He is real. And not only are we sure that He is real, but that everything He has told us, warned us about, and promised us, is real too. Are you walking by faith? Not just faith that Jesus died on the cross, but faith in your daily life?

If you want to live a legacy of faith, one that is passed down to your kids and their kids, it starts with walking by faith every single day. That is God’s will for you!
