God’s Response

Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much.” – Job 38:4

Did you know God responds to your prayers? When you take on God, question Him, challenge Him, or need Him, God will answer you. It might or might not be when you want Him to respond. It might or might not be the way you want Him to respond. But He will respond.

We see this play out with Job. In Job 13:3, he says, “As for me, I would speak directly to the Almighty. I want to argue my case with God himself.” And then, after all the finger-pointing and name-calling, after hearing all the accusations, assumptions, and misrepresentations, God finally responded to Job.

God responds with a question in Job 38:4, “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much.” If you keep reading, you’ll see about 70 verses where God goes off, reminding Job that His eyes are blinded to nothing that is happening in the universe.

My friend, when you challenge God Almighty, when you question Him, He will respond. He is not some statue that lifelessly stands in place. He is not some figure of your imagination. Your God is REAL. And He will respond.

You might be at a point in your life right now where you don’t understand what is going on or why life is happening the way it is. If that is you, ask God. He wants you to ask Him! He wants you to come to Him with what is truly on your heart and how you really feel.

Just know, when you ask, He will respond. As we looked at yesterday, God’s ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He knows what He is doing. If you call on Him, He will respond. That’s who He is. The question is, are you ready for His response?
