Can’t Do It Alone

“Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.” – Romans 12:4-5

We asked the question yesterday, what’s your role? What role do you play on God’s team? Every team, whether it is a sports team or a business organization, fills each role on its team. Not everyone can do everything. That is not how a team is designed.

The purpose of a team is to achieve far more than what any individual can on their own. But for a team to do that, they have to establish roles. Every person has a different set of strengths and weaknesses, and it is those strengths and weaknesses that determine what they can bring to the table.

Romans 12:4-5 tells us, “Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.”

Think of a business that is just starting out. Someone has an idea for a product or service, but they likely don’t have the funds to pay a whole team. So they start out doing everything themselves. They do the best they can, and the business starts to grow. But as it grows, they get to a point where they can no longer do everything themselves.

That is when they have to start hiring. They hire a team to help them do more than they could ever do on their own. And just like a young CEO, the same goes for you. Whatever you are doing, you can’t do it all alone.

God loves when we pursue Him and do all that we can to advance His Kingdom. But there comes a point when we will need help. We will need people to fill different roles. What roles do you need to fill as you pursue God’s mission for your life? No matter who you are, you can’t do it alone.

Let God reveal to you who He wants to bring along with you on this journey of pursuing His will.
