#Blessed

“Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ.” – Ephesians 1:3

The Bible says, if I am a Christian, then I AM BLESSED.

Ephesians 1:3 says, “Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ.”

Modern-day Christianity loves the word “blessed.” We love to talk, text, and tweet about our blessings. If you don’t believe me, just take a peek at social media later today. One of the most popular hashtags on the internet each and every year is #blessed.

And many times, we talk about being blessed, or we use that hashtag, to boast about the things we have, the things we’ve accomplished, and the things we’ve done, all while still appearing to be humble, of course.

We say things like… “I got a college scholarship #blessed” or “I got another unexpected raise #blessed” or “we finally got our dream house #blessed”.

And hear me, I’m not here to correct your hashtag game, but rather to show you what being blessed is really about. To be blessed is to receive something you didn’t earn. When we receive our paycheck at the end of the two weeks, we hardly ever say, “Wow! This is such a blessing!” Why? Because we earned that paycheck, and we see that money is something earned.

But truly being #blessed isn’t about what you’ve earned, but what you haven’t earned. You haven’t earned salvation. You haven’t earned the right to go to heaven. These are free gifts that God has given to us. And this is just one example.

As Christians, God gives us so many blessings, so many things that we DO NOT DESERVE. But He gives them to us because He loves us. Take some time today, not to post about it, but to really thank God for giving you what you don’t deserve, what you haven’t earned but have received purely because He loves you!
