Insider Information

“God has now revealed to us His mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill His own good plan. And this is the plan: At the right time He will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.” – Ephesians 1:9-10

In Old Testament times, God’s plans and goals weren’t as clear as they are today. We have clarity today when it comes to God’s purpose and the “mystery of His will,” because Jesus came and revealed it to us. The word “mystery” occurs five other times in the book of Ephesians, and it means “a truth once hidden but now known.”

That’s what Paul was saying in Ephesians 1. Jesus made known the mystery of God’s plan, and since we are in Christ, we have knowledge of His will.

Ephesians 1:9-10 puts it this way; “God has now revealed to us His mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill His own good plan. And this is the plan: At the right time He will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.”

In the world of stocks and investing, this would be called, “Insider information.” Jesus came to give us “insider information” into what God was doing and what God would soon be doing. He came to reveal God’s will.

Insider information is when future plans for a company are revealed to someone before that information is made available to the public or its investors. If you knew that tomorrow a certain company was going to make a big move and its stock was going to go up 1000% you’d probably take action and invest in that company, right?

In the same way, Jesus came 2,000 years ago and gave us insider information. In doing so, He revealed God’s plans and purposes. He made known to us the mystery of His will, a plan for the right time to bring everything together in Christ.

As His children, God has immensely blessed us. He has given us a new identity. He has set us apart. He had adopted us. He has redeemed us. And now, He has given us insider information about His will.

If you haven’t already, take some time today and thank God for all the ways He has blessed you. Even when we don’t deserve it, God still continues to bless us!
