You’re Called

“Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of His own purpose and grace, which He gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.” – 2 Timothy 1:9

If you are a believer and you are “in Christ,” then Paul says… you’re BLESSED… you’re CALLED… you’re SAVED… and you are RECONCILED. Currently, we are in the middle of talking about these four things and the responsibility they bear on our lives.

Yesterday, we looked at how, as believers, we are blessed. But it doesn’t stop there. See God doesn’t just say once you give your life to Him that you are going to be showered with blessings and that is all…that you have no other responsibility, just take in all the blessings…

Once you give your life to Christ, you now have a calling. Paul tells us that we are called by God. 2 Timothy 1:9 puts it this way; “Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of His own purpose and grace, which He gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.”

See, you aren’t just blessed, though being blessed is amazing. You are also CALLED. Once you have given your life to Christ, God wants you to turn to others and share with them the amazing things God has done in your life. You shouldn’t just keep it to yourself!

This is why God gives each of us different talents and abilities. He wants us to use those gifts as our calling toward a greater purpose… HIS PURPOSE. God’s purpose is for us to live out our calling and spread the good news of what He has done in our lives.

When you give your life to God, you have a responsibility. Yes, you are blessed. But you are also called. God wants you to live out that calling in accordance with His will. This is how He will bless you!
