You’re Saved

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9

If you are a believer and you are “in Christ,” then Paul says… you’re BLESSED… you’re CALLED… you’re SAVED… and you are RECONCILED. Over the last two days, we have talked about the first two things and the responsibility they bear on our lives.

Today, I want to turn to this third idea of being “in Christ,” and that is that you are SAVED. When you are “in Christ,” you have made a decision. And that decision is the greatest one you will ever make. You have made the choice to give your life to Jesus Christ and to follow Him for the rest of your time on earth.

As we have looked at the last couple of days, when you do that, you open yourself up to receive the blessings of God. You also now will be called by God. But there is more. When you give your life to Christ, you are SAVED by Jesus Christ.

If you are reading this and you are wondering, “Pastor, saved from what?” As a sinner… and we are ALL SINNERS… we are separated from God. Not only in this life but when we die, we are destined for hell. Hell is the burning lake of fire where everyone who does not turn to God will soon find themselves.

But when we give our lives to Him and are “in Christ,” we are choosing to acknowledge that Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, and died for our sins. He didn’t have to do that. He did nothing wrong. But He died so that we would have access to the Father. And that access is not only in this life, but it is the difference between heaven and hell in the next life.

Jesus saves us from our own sins. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

See, it is not about what you’ve done, but what He has done for you. If you have not already, give your life to Jesus Christ today! He will bless you, He will call you, and He will SAVE you!
