“Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22
If you have been following along with us the last couple of days, you know that we are doing our best to try and comprehend the immense and immeasurable love of God. While on earth, we likely will never understand how much God loves us. But that doesn’t mean we can’t try to better understand it.
That was Paul’s mission. Paul prayed that the church would be able to grasp and comprehend the magnitude of God’s love. I believe even Paul didn’t have the words to express how vast the love of God really is.
I mean, think about it. How vast is the love of God? How would you define it? We have looked already at the sacrificial aspect of God’s love. We have also discussed the perfection of God’s love. Today, I want to turn your attention to the faithfulness of God’s love.
Lamentations 3:22 says, “Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
Did you catch that? Even when we die, our lives do not end. As believers, we will spend eternity in heaven with God. That is because of the sacrificial love He displayed through His Son, Jesus. We can bank on this promise because of the perfectness of His love. But we can also bank on it because He is faithful.
And that faithful love lasts forever. That is exactly what this verse tells us. God’s love is not only sacrificial and perfect. If that was all it was, it would be more than enough. But it is also a faithful and forever love.
He is faithful. He always has been, and He always will be. His love is forever. There is no end if you are a child of God. He loves you faithfully and He loves you forever. There is no expiration date on the love of Christ!
