Building HIS Kingdom

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33

Over the last two days, we have talked about greed and generosity. When we steal, it comes from a sinful seed inside of us. That could be a seed of entitlement, coveting, or straight-up greed. Whatever it is, we want something that does not belong to us.

While generosity, on the other hand, is us giving freely of what we already have. It can be in the form of money, possessions, time, or service. God doesn’t call us to be greedy and “get ours.” He calls us to make generosity our new norm.

See, what we have is less about us, and it’s more about others. It’s less about building our kingdom, and more about building HIS Kingdom. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

When we seek Him first, He will take care of all our needs. He will give us far more than we could ever ask or imagine. Not only does He take care of us, but when we focus on God, He will give us more than we could ever accumulate on our own.

But that is when your focus shifts from greed and coveting. It’s not about what you want. It’s about what He wants. When you change your focus to what He wants and build His Kingdom, He will take care of everything else.

Where is your focus? Are you worried about how much you can get for yourself? Or are you focused on building God’s Kingdom? When you make Him your focus, He takes care of all the rest. Trust Him and watch what He does when you change your focus.
