Dress in Your New Clothes

“For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” – Galatians 3:27

Are you ready to put on your new clothes? The Bible says for those of us who are “in Christ,” we have been clothed in righteousness. We’ve been given the fruit of the spirit. We’ve shed our grave clothes, and we’ve put on new clothes in Christ.

Every time we choose God’s way instead of our old way, we put on our new self. Each time we choose to replace a sinful desire, a sinful motive, or a sinful thought or attitude with a godlier one, it’s evidence that our lives are being renewed.

Galatians 3:27 says, “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”

Let me ask you this…

Is there evidence demonstrating that your life has been renewed by Jesus? Have you experienced a wardrobe change? Have you stripped off the old and put on your new clothes as a child of God?

When a prisoner is released from jail, they would never choose to wear an orange jumpsuit again. Why would they? Why would someone dress as a prisoner if they were now living in freedom? And yet, that is exactly what many people are doing today in a spiritual sense.

We live as though we are still in bondage to sin. But the truth is, through Christ, we are free! Every day we make the decision as to what “clothing” we are going to wear. We can either wear our old rags that reek of sin or our new clothes that smell of the truth and righteousness of Christ.

What clothes are you wearing today? It’s time to put on your new clothes and walk worthy of YOUR calling!
