Ingredient #3: Development

“God is not unjust, He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.” – Hebrews 6:10

What makes a successful team? We are in a five-day series answering that exact question. We are looking at five ingredients that all great teams have. The first was victory, not just random victories but accomplishing a mission. Next was growth; great teams grow their fanbases.

Today, I want to look at the third ingredient: DEVELOPMENT. Do you know what can make a great team what we call, “a dynasty?” It’s development. A winning team develops its players. They never stop getting better.

In order for the church to emulate successful teams, we, too, must develop our people. The church should develop its members so that they are maximized as a part of the body of Christ.

Hebrews 6:10 tells us, “God is not unjust, He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.”

I want to ask you a question. As a member of the church, whether it is our church or a different church, what are you doing to develop your team? How are you challenging those around you to grow in their personal relationship with God?

Then how are you as a team growing to best utilize your gifts and abilities to accomplish God’s plan and purpose for your church? There are many different ways to grow. There are also many different areas of our life that need growth.

What is important is that we are always developing. As children of God, we should never stop growing to be more like Jesus. As a member of your team, how are you challenging others in their development? How are you doing in terms of your own development?

Great teams are always developing!
