Ingredient #4: Vision

“Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.” – Proverbs 29:18

Great teams have five things they all do. There might be more, but we are looking at five “ingredients” of great teams. Why? Because as a church, we want to emulate a great team. A church is a team, and it should strive to be the best team possible.

We have looked at the first three ingredients already. If you missed those, go back and take a look! Today, I want to look at the fourth ingredient: VISION. All great teams have a vision.

Think about it. How can you have a mission without a vision? How can you grow and get others to follow without a vision? How can you develop without a vision for where you are going?

The vision is the key. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.” A successful church is always looking forward and preparing for what comes next in the journey.

What is the vision of your team? How can you help grow the vision of your church and give them clarity about what is coming?

Without vision, you will just be left doing random tasks. Without a destination, we are just wandering. When you hit the road, you have a destination. You know where you are going. For us, the vision provides that destination.

Where are you and your team going? Can you see it? Can you visualize it? If not, it might be time to stop. Don’t move without purpose. First, you need to find your vision! Because VISION is a key ingredient for all successful teams.
