Ingredient #5: Profit

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” – Colossians 3:16

As we conclude our five-day series on successful teams, we come to the final ingredient of what makes such a great team, and that is PROFIT. For most teams, profit relates to money in the bank. Successful teams have the most profit.

For the church, our profit isn’t money in the bank. Our profit is changing lives. And when the church is successful in doing what God designed us to do, it will always result in life change.

Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

As our team, the church, we should be teaching and admonishing others in wisdom. Our mission and vision should be the life change of others. That is our profit.

Most people believe that when they make a profit and raise the level of their bank account, they will experience a life change. Sadly, most never experience the life change they are looking for. Sure, they might be able to buy nicer things and experience more. But it doesn’t always result in the change they were looking for.

As a church, it is our responsibility to show others what real life change is. And that life change comes from knowing Jesus. When we are obedient to Him and His plan, only then will we experience the real, genuine, true, satisfying life change that we have always hoped for.

When you can help others find that, my friend, you and your team will have real profit.
