Greater Courage

“I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being.” – Ephesians 3:16

Do you want to do amazing things for God’s Kingdom? Do you hope to one day hear the words, “Well done my good and faithful servant?” Maybe you are saying, “Pastor, I want so badly to pursue God’s plan for my life, but I’m just not getting any momentum. I’m struggling to experience God.”

If that is the case, what you need is to be strengthened. The word ”strengthened” is the opposite of the word “discouraged.” Paul says in Ephesians 3:16, “I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being.”

What Paul is praying is for them to be strengthened with a greater courage, strengthened with a greater power. That courage and power only come through the Spirit of God.

What Paul reminds us here is that if you are going to experience more of God or accomplish more for God, your inner being must be filled with the Spirit of God. The reason many don’t feel as close to God as they want, or they don’t accomplish as much as they want, is because they aren’t spending enough time with Him.

If you want to have a greater courage for God, one that is able to accomplish more, you need to spend more time with Him. Many believers want to be moved by God and experience the results that come with God but don’t want to actually take the time that is required to get those results.

And don’t get it twisted. We don’t spend time with God for results. God wants a personal relationship with you. The things you accomplish for Him are just a byproduct of the relationship you have and how He decides to use you.

Are you accomplishing all that you want for God? Are you experiencing the presence of God? If not, it might be time to get alone with God. Spending time with Him is the only way you can experience God in the way your soul needs. Take some time with God today and allow Him to speak to you!
