Filled Through Prayer

“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” – Matthew 6:6

If you want to grow your relationship with God and experience Him on a deeper level, you need to spend more time with Him. Building your relationship with God is like building a relationship with a significant other, friend, or family member; you must spend time with them in order to know them better.

The difference is, with God, it is not a two-way verbal conversation. There are two main ways that we communicate with God; through prayer and Scripture. Prayer is our way to talk to God.

Matthew 6:6 instructs us, “But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” If you want to grow closer to God and experience Him more, you need to be spending time with Him in prayer.

The benefits of prayer in your life are limitless. Prayer can bring you peace in the midst of a difficult situation. Prayer can bring you hope where life doesn’t seem to be showing much promise. Prayer can deepen your understanding of the God you serve. Prayer can lead to miracles that only God can perform.

And these are just a few of the things God can do through prayer. He is a God of limitless resources, and He wants to use those resources to bless you and bring glory to His name. It is so sad to think about what we miss out on just because we don’t take the time to pray.

How is your prayer life? Are you being filled through prayer? It is one of the greatest gifts God has given us, the ability to talk to Him. Make sure you are prioritizing this gift God has given you, and watch how He changes your life through prayer!
