Stewards of Power

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8

In the tapestry of life, each of us possesses a thread of power. It’s woven into our roles at work, in our homes, within our communities, and at school. It’s a force that can be used to shape the world around us. Today, the Lord calls us to ponder a crucial question: How will I use the power God’s given me?

Consider the power you hold in your hands, whether it’s the authority at your workplace, the influence within your family, or the ability to make a difference in your community. This power isn’t solely about status or position; it’s about the impact you can make in the lives of those you encounter.

Acts 1:8 reminds us that, as believers, we receive power through the Holy Spirit. This divine empowerment is not for personal gain or dominance but for a higher purpose—to be witnesses for Christ, starting from our immediate surroundings and extending to the ends of the earth. It’s a reminder that our power is meant to be a force for good, reflecting God’s love and grace.

Pause today to examine how you wield your power. Are you using it to uplift, encourage, and serve others? Or is it being squandered on self-interest and personal gain? Remember that with power comes responsibility, and the choices you make with your influence have ripple effects on those around you.

Think about the potential you have to effect change and bring about positive transformation. It might be as simple as lending a helping hand to a colleague, using your voice to advocate for justice, or investing time in mentoring a young person. Small actions can have profound impacts when driven by a heart aligned with God’s purpose.

Today, commit to being a faithful steward of the power entrusted to you. Seek God’s guidance and wisdom in how you can use your influence to bring about His kingdom values of love, compassion, and justice. Embrace the truth that your power, when channeled with intention and grace, can be a source of blessing and transformation in the lives of those you encounter.
