Stacking Small Wins

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” – Luke 16:10

In our pursuit of a life aligned with God’s will, we often focus on the big steps and major decisions. While these are important, it’s equally crucial to recognize the significance of small obedience and the principle of stacking little wins.

Small obedience leads to bigger obedience. Just like a skyscraper is built brick by brick, our spiritual growth is often built upon a foundation of small, obedient steps. When we faithfully follow God’s guidance in the little things, we prepare ourselves for more significant acts of obedience.

Think of the story of David in the Bible. Before he faced the giant Goliath, he spent years shepherding sheep in the wilderness. These seemingly insignificant years of caring for a flock were a training ground for the bigger task God had in store for him—leading Israel as their king.

When we are obedient in the small things, God rewards us in big ways. God takes notice of our faithfulness in the little details of life. Just as a good and wise master rewards a faithful servant, our Heavenly Father acknowledges our small acts of obedience. These rewards may come in various forms, such as increased spiritual maturity, peace in our hearts, or opportunities to serve others.

Think about how small acts of kindness and compassion can lead to significant impacts on someone’s life. When we consistently show love to others in simple ways, it can open doors to more profound relationships and opportunities to share the gospel.

When God can trust us with small things, He begins to trust us with bigger things. This principle is beautifully expressed in Luke 16:10. When we demonstrate integrity and faithfulness in small matters, God entrusts us with more significant responsibilities and blessings.

Joseph, in the Old Testament, is a prime example of this principle in action. He was entrusted with the small task of managing Potiphar’s household, and his unwavering faithfulness led to even greater responsibilities, ultimately positioning him as second in command over all of Egypt.

So, as you walk your faith journey, remember the power of stacking little wins. Be faithful in the small acts of obedience, knowing that they are building blocks for greater things in your life. Trust that God sees your faithfulness and is preparing you for more significant tasks in His kingdom. When you embrace small obedience, you pave the way for God to trust you with more and to use you in remarkable ways for His glory.
