Guardians of Blessings

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” – John 10:10

Have you ever received a blessing so profound that you felt it was tailor-made for you? There’s a unique joy in knowing that God, the ultimate gift-giver, delights in pouring blessings into our lives. But here’s a truth to remember: the thief is always lurking, seeking to snatch away these precious gifts. In John 10:10, Jesus warns us about the enemy’s agenda, declaring that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy.

God’s blessings come in various forms—relationships, opportunities, joy, and provisions. Yet, the devil is relentless in his pursuit to rob us of these gifts. Imagine a thief scheming in the shadows, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. The enemy’s tactics are subtle, often disguised in doubt, fear, or distraction. But as believers, we are called to be guardians of God’s blessings.

Just as a vigilant guard watches over valuable treasures, we must be alert to the devil’s schemes. Our awareness and reliance on God’s Word become the armor that shields the blessings bestowed upon us. The promise in John 10:10 is not just a warning but an invitation to embrace the fullness of life that Christ provides. In doing so, we actively resist the thief’s attempts to rob us of the joy, peace, and purpose God intends for us.

Think of the blessings in your life. Perhaps it’s a loving family, a fulfilling career, or a renewed sense of purpose. These are not mere coincidences but intentional gifts from a loving Father. As guardians of blessings, our role is to nurture and protect what God has graciously given. When the thief comes with his arsenal of doubt or discouragement, stand firm in the truth of God’s promises.

Remember, the enemy’s tactics are predictable, but our God is faithful. Through prayer, discernment, and reliance on Scripture, we can halt the thief’s attempts and preserve the blessings that God has entrusted to us. In doing so, we not only secure our joy and fulfillment but also contribute to the unfolding of God’s redemptive plan in our lives.
