Surrendering All

“When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” – Colossians 3:4

When we contemplate the essence of sacrifice, one fundamental truth emerges: Jesus desires not just a portion of our lives, but the entirety of who we are. He doesn’t settle for fragments; He longs to be the very core of our existence. Colossians 3:4 affirms this, declaring that Christ is not merely a part of our lives but is, in fact, our life itself.

Think about that for a moment. Jesus isn’t content with some of you; He wants all of you. He desires to be the focal point, the driving force, the essence of your being. He wants to permeate every aspect of your existence, shaping your thoughts, guiding your actions, and dwelling in your heart.

When we withhold parts of ourselves from God, when we cling to non-negotiables and refuse to surrender fully to His will, we deny ourselves the fullness of His blessings and purpose. We fall short of His expectation for sacrificial living.

But why should we offer God our all? Why should we relinquish control and surrender every area of our lives to Him? The answer is simple: because God didn’t hold anything back from us. He gave His Son, Jesus, as the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation.

God’s love knows no bounds, His grace knows no limits. He spared nothing to reconcile us to Himself, pouring out His love in abundance. In light of His immeasurable generosity, how can we justify holding back from Him?

May we offer ourselves as living sacrifices, wholeheartedly embracing His will and allowing Him to be the central focus of our lives. In doing so, we open ourselves to the fullness of His blessings and experience the abundant life that comes from living in complete surrender to our Savior.
