The Window is Closing
"The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you." - John 12:35
When Jesus gave us the book of Revelation, His purpose wasn’t to frighten us but to prepare us. He wanted us to be ready for what’s coming and to use this time wisely. In Revelation 10, we see that the pause, the season of grace, is nearing its end. Like a weather forecaster wrapping up a broadcast, the message is clear: the storm is almost here, and the window of opportunity to respond is closing.
This is where many of us find ourselves today, standing at a fork in the road. You’ve been given time to prepare, to choose the path you’ll take, but the decision can’t be delayed forever. In John 12, Jesus faced a crowd of people who had heard of Him, maybe even seen Him perform miracles. But this time, He didn’t come with signs, He came with a message. He told them who He was and gave them the opportunity to believe in Him.
The same is true for you. Jesus is calling you to decide. Will you follow Him wholeheartedly, or will you continue to wait, hoping for more time? The truth is, waiting too long can mean missing the opportunity altogether.
Jesus reminded the crowd in John 12 that the light is only with us for a little while. That light is His presence, His truth, and His offer of salvation. He’s urging you to walk in that light now, not later. Don’t assume you’ll always have the chance to turn to Him or to fully commit your life. The pause won’t last forever.
This is your moment to reflect. Are there areas in your life where you’ve been putting off obedience, repentance, or surrender? Have you been standing at the fork in the road, unsure which path to take? Jesus is inviting you to step into the light, to trust Him, and to walk forward in faith.
Don’t let this window of grace pass you by. Choose today to follow Him fully. The season of preparation is a gift, but it won’t last forever. Walk while you have the light and let Jesus guide you down the path of life.
