Trusting God in the Fog

"I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world." - John 16:33

If you’ve ever asked, “Why would God allow this?” You are not alone. In over two decades of ministry, I’ve sat in orphanages filled with children longing to be loved, stood by hospital beds as families prayed for miracles that didn’t come, and watched parents bury their children far too soon. And in those moments, people look at me, searching for an answer, asking, “Why did God let this happen?”

I want to be honest with you. I don’t know. I don’t understand why some people live while others die, or why sickness, hunger, and suffering persist across this world. It’s not something I can explain or wrap up in a neat little answer.

But here’s what I do know. Jesus told us it would be this way. In John 16:33, He said, “You will have suffering in this world.” That wasn’t a warning to scare us. It was a promise that when suffering comes, we wouldn’t be caught off guard. And He didn’t stop there. He added, “Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”

God’s Word also tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:12 that right now, we see life like looking into a foggy mirror. We catch pieces and reflections, but we don’t see the full picture. There’s coming a day when every question will be answered, when every “why” will finally make sense. But today is not that day. Today, we are called to trust and walk forward by faith.

You may not understand why you’re facing what you’re going through. You may not see how God could possibly use your pain for good. But you can trust that He sees you, He loves you, and He’s walking with you through the fog.

You don’t have to figure out all the answers. Keep moving forward by faith, trusting that one day, what is foggy now will become crystal clear in His presence.

There is hardship and suffering in this world because the world belongs to Satan right now, because God gave us the right to freedom of choice. Mankind as a whole decided to follow Satan, so that is who has control right now.

Your message today Pastor is absolutely true. Since the beginning of this year I have been experiencing so much difficulty because of what has happened to my son. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor that the neurosurgeon is unable to perform because of the position of the tumor on his brain. We have been told that he will not live until the end of this year 2025. He gets seizures constantly and I know he is in a constant state of depression. Please pray for him . His name is Dominic Thompson. I thank you sincerely Pastor and May GOD continue to Bless you
