When You Feel Like You Are Not Enough
"Send me to Judah and to the city where my ancestors are buried, so that I may rebuild it." - Nehemiah 2:4
Have you ever felt like God was asking you to do something that made no sense? Something that felt too big, too heavy, too impossible for someone like you?
Maybe you felt the nudge to lead a Bible study even though you have never led anything before. Maybe you felt the tug to share your story with someone, but you questioned if your story was even worth telling. Maybe you feel a burden for your neighborhood, your school, or your family, but every time you think about doing something, you hear a voice that says: Who are you to do that?
You are not alone in that feeling.
Over and over in Scripture, we see God call ordinary people to do things that seem far beyond them. People like Moses, who could barely speak. People like Gideon, who felt like the weakest person in the weakest family. People like David, who was overlooked by everyone but chosen by God. God seems to love stacking the odds against Himself, just to make sure nobody gets confused about where the victory came from.
Why does He do it that way?
Because God’s goal is not just your success. His goal is His glory. He does not need your strength. He wants your surrender.
So if you feel unqualified, good. That is exactly where God often begins. You are in the perfect place for Him to do something supernatural in and through you. If you feel weak, limited, or unsure, bring that to God. He already knows. And He is not looking for the strongest or the smartest or the most equipped. He is looking for someone who will say yes, even when it feels like not enough.
Maybe today is the day you stop waiting to feel ready. Maybe today is the day you just say yes. God has a habit of using the least likely people to do the most impossible things, and He does it so that the world will look at your life and see His power on display. So ask yourself, what is He calling you to build, start, or believe for, even if it feels way out of your league? Say yes anyway. He will be with you.
