I Am Blessed

“Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ.” – Ephesians 1:3

Most people think of blessings as the good things that happen in life. We get a promotion, we post a picture, and we call it a blessing. We enjoy a healthy family, a comfortable home, or a good season, and we feel blessed. While those things are certainly gifts from God, the Bible defines blessing as something deeper. Being blessed is not about what we earn or achieve. It is about what we have received in Christ.

When Paul wrote this verse, he was reminding believers in Ephesus that every spiritual blessing already belongs to those who are in Christ. Notice the wording. It does not say God will bless us. It says He has blessed us. That means if you belong to Jesus, you are already living from a place of blessing, not working toward it. The greatest blessings are not found in what we have, but in who we have.

Being blessed is not about accumulation, but about identity. Through Jesus, we have been forgiven, adopted, redeemed, and sealed by the Holy Spirit. We have peace with God, purpose in this life, and a promise of eternity with Him. Those blessings do not fade when circumstances change. They remain because Christ remains.

The world defines blessing by possessions, but Scripture defines it by position. To be in Christ is to be blessed beyond measure. Every spiritual blessing flows from that relationship. You do not have to earn it or prove yourself worthy of it. God blesses His children because of who He is, not because of what we do.

Take a moment to think about the blessings that cannot be seen with the eyes but are felt in the soul. The grace that covers your past. The peace that guards your heart. The presence of God that never leaves you. Those are the blessings that matter most.

You are blessed because you belong to Him. Live with gratitude today, not striving for more, but resting in what is already yours through Christ. Every spiritual blessing you need is found in Him.
