Raised People Need a Raised Focus

“So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” - Colossians 3:1

Sometimes, we can lose sight of life and start living as if this life is all there is. Bills, schedules, pressure, and expectations pull your attention downward every day. Even as a believer, your focus can slowly shrink to what is urgent instead of what is eternal. When that happens, faith feels heavy, and life feels cluttered.

Scripture reminds us of something important for us to remember. If you have been raised with Christ, your life is already tied to something much higher than life on earth. The resurrection of Jesus Christ changes our direction. It lifts perspective. You no longer belong only to what is seen right now. You belong to what lasts. A raised life requires a raised focus.

Focusing on things above does not mean ignoring responsibility or our current reality. It means letting eternity shape how you view today. Decisions change when Christ is the point of reference. Pressure loosens when approval no longer comes from people but from Him. And worry fades when security rests in something (or Someone) unshakable.

Our earthly focus too often shrinks life down to survival. Eternal focus opens life up to purpose. One is driven by fear of loss. The other is anchored in hope that cannot be taken away. When your mind is set on Christ, circumstances lose their ability to control you.

If life has felt noisy or overwhelming, it may be time to lift your focus again. You were not raised to live with your eyes glued to the ground. You were raised to live with your heart fixed on Christ. When your focus rises, clarity follows, and peace begins to settle back in.
