The Narrow Door

“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.” – Luke 13:24

Jesus tells us in Luke 13:24, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.” When Jesus says, “Make every effort,” He’s talking about your actions and your life decisions.

So, here’s the message from Jesus to us: Make your choice. Choose the path you’re going to take. Choose the gate you’re going to walk through. Choose God or choose the world. But choose carefully because those choices will determine where you will spend eternity.

It’s a sobering reality to acknowledge that our choices have eternal consequences. Every decision we make, big or small, shapes our lives and ultimately determines our destiny. Jesus urges us to make every effort to enter through the narrow door, to choose the path of righteousness and obedience to God’s Word.

The narrow door represents the way of salvation, the path that leads to eternal life with God. It’s not always the easy choice, and it may require sacrifice and perseverance. But it’s the only path that leads to true fulfillment and lasting joy.

On the other hand, the wide gate represents the allure of the world, the path of selfishness and sin. It may seem appealing and easy to follow, but it leads to destruction and eternal separation from God.

So, how do we make the right choice? We start by seeking God’s guidance through prayer and studying His Word. We surround ourselves with fellow believers who can encourage and support us on our journey. And most importantly, we surrender our will to God’s will, allowing His Spirit to lead and guide us in all things.

As you go about your day, remember Jesus’ words: Make every effort to enter through the narrow door. Choose wisely, and may your choices reflect your commitment to follow Christ wholeheartedly.
