DEPENDING ON GOD IN THE WAITING
“Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him.” – Psalm 62:5
Waiting is not easy. It can be a time of uncertainty, restlessness, and longing. However, in the midst of our waiting, we have an opportunity to develop a deep dependency on God. It is during these seasons that we learn to rely on His strength, guidance, and provision.
Throughout the Bible, we find stories of individuals who experienced periods of waiting and were ultimately dependent on God. Joseph endured years of hardship and imprisonment before his rise to power. Abraham and Sarah waited for the fulfillment of God’s promise of a child. Moses spent 40 years in the wilderness before leading the Israelites to the Promised Land. These examples remind us that waiting creates a dependency on God.
In our waiting, we are forced to confront our limitations and acknowledge that we cannot control or manipulate circumstances to align with our desires. We must turn to God for wisdom, direction, and comfort. Dependence on God is not a sign of weakness but of strength, as we recognize that His ways are higher than ours and His plans are perfect.
During seasons of waiting, we can find rest in God. We can take comfort in knowing that our hope comes from Him alone. As we lean on Him, we discover His faithfulness, His provision, and His unfailing love. Our dependency on Him deepens as we learn to trust in His timing and His purpose.
Being dependent on God is vital because it aligns our hearts with His will and enables us to experience His abundant grace and blessings. It reminds us that apart from Him, we can do nothing. It humbles us and fosters a spirit of gratitude and surrender.
In the waiting, let us embrace our dependency on God. Let us seek Him earnestly through prayer, meditate on His Word, and trust in His promises. May our waiting be a time of growing closer to Him, of deepening our faith, and of experiencing His presence in a profound way.
Remember, that as you wait on God, He is working behind the scenes, orchestrating every detail according to His perfect plan. Be dependent on Him and find rest in His unwavering love. Place your hope and trust in Him, knowing that He is faithful to fulfill His promises in His perfect timing.
