Trusting God with What We Have

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” – Luke 16:10

As followers of Christ, we are called to be faithful stewards of all that God has entrusted to us. This includes not only our material possessions but also our time, talents, relationships, and opportunities. Yet, in a culture that often encourages us to constantly pursue more, it can be easy to lose sight of the importance of stewardship.

The Bible teaches us the principle of stewardship—that everything we have ultimately belongs to God and that we are called to manage His resources wisely and responsibly. In Luke 16:10, Jesus tells us, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” This verse reminds us that our faithfulness in small matters reflects our readiness to handle greater responsibilities.

Being a good steward begins with a mindset of gratitude and contentment. When we are constantly longing for more or preoccupied with acquiring possessions, we lose sight of the blessings that God has already bestowed upon us. Instead of focusing on what we lack, let us cultivate a spirit of thankfulness for the abundance that surrounds us.

It’s important to recognize that our attitude toward stewardship reveals the condition of our hearts. If we are constantly consumed by a desire for more, it may indicate a lack of trust in God’s provision and a misplaced focus on worldly gain. However, when we embrace the principle of stewardship, we demonstrate our trust in God’s sovereignty and His ability to provide for our needs.

Ultimately, faithful stewardship is not about accumulating wealth or possessions for ourselves but about using what we have been given to glorify God and serve others. When we demonstrate wisdom, integrity, and generosity in managing God’s resources, we position ourselves to receive His abundant blessings and to be entrusted with even greater responsibilities in His kingdom.

Today I want you to ask yourself: Am I being a faithful steward of all that God has given me? Commit to managing His resources with wisdom, integrity, and gratitude, knowing that as you do, you are honoring God and positioning yourself to experience His abundant blessings.
