Hold On to What God Has Given You
“Remember, then, what you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent.” - Revelation 3:3
Think about the precious gifts God has given you. He has poured out His grace, filled you with His Spirit, and given you His Word. Jesus tells us to "keep it." But what does this mean for you personally?
It means to hold on to what God has given you. Keep the Word of God as the standard for your life. This isn’t just about reading the Bible; it’s about letting it shape every part of who you are. God’s Word is powerful. It’s living and active, able to transform you from the inside out. It’s time to put God’s Word into practice.
Jesus was speaking to a church that had fallen asleep spiritually, and His message to them is equally relevant to us today. He’s saying, "God’s Word IN YOU will wake you up!" If you feel spiritually lethargic or distant from God, the answer lies in returning to His Word. Allow it to breathe life into your soul, to rekindle your passion, and to give you purpose.
Whenever you move towards God, you move towards life. His Word is the key to experiencing a vibrant, dynamic faith. It will give you strength when you’re weak, guidance when you’re lost, and hope when you’re discouraged. But in order to experience these things, you’ve got to "keep it." Hold on to what God has given you with all your might.
Make it a priority to spend time in the Bible daily. Meditate on its truths, let them sink deep into your heart, and live them out in your everyday life. This isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress. It’s about continually striving to align your life with God’s will.
Remember, God’s Word can put life into a corpse. If you’re feeling spiritually dead, it’s time to turn back to His Word. Let it revive you, strengthen you, and guide you. Hold on to what God has given you and watch as He brings new life into your soul.
Jesus calls you to wake up and hold on to His Word. Don’t let it slip away. Keep it close, let it nourish you, and let it transform you. When you do, you’ll find that God’s Word is not just a book; it’s the breath of life, the foundation of your faith, and the key to a fulfilling relationship with Him.
