All In for God
“I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.” - Revelation 3:15-16
In His message to the church at Laodicea, Jesus delivers a powerful and challenging statement: “I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.”
This verse paints a vivid picture of God’s desire for our spiritual fervor. He calls us to be on fire for Him, fully committed and passionate in our faith. Being lukewarm—halfway in, neither fully devoted nor completely indifferent—is simply unacceptable to God.
God’s call is clear: He wants us to be all in. When we’re lukewarm, we’re essentially saying that our relationship with God isn’t important enough to ignite a passionate response. Imagine being in a relationship where your partner is just mildly interested in you. How would that make you feel? That’s what lukewarm faith looks like to God.
God wants all of you—your heart, soul, mind, and strength. He calls us to love Him passionately, serve Him diligently, and follow Him wholeheartedly. When we’re on fire for God, our lives become a testament to His power and love. We become an example of hope and truth in a world desperately needing both.
Reflect on your spiritual temperature today. Are you all in for God, or have you allowed complacency to creep in? Jesus, who created all things and holds the universe together, deserves nothing less than our complete devotion. He is not satisfied with half-hearted commitments. He wants passionate followers who are fully engaged in their relationship with Him.
