The Fruits of Your New Life

“Jesus replied, ‘Truly I tell you, unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’” - John 3:3

Do you realize that your salvation involves more than just a ticket to Heaven? Many of us grew up with the belief that once we invited Jesus into our hearts, our main reward was the promise of eternal life.

While that’s true, there’s so much more to it. In God’s view, eternal life starts the moment you are born again. It doesn’t begin when you die; it begins the moment you experience your second birth!

In John 3:3, Jesus makes it clear that being born again is the gateway to seeing the kingdom of God. This new beginning isn’t just about securing your place in Heaven; it’s about receiving the abundant life that starts now. And with this new life comes a remarkable gift: the Fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 describes this fruit as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

These attributes might not have been part of your life before you came to Christ, but they are now available to you through the Holy Spirit. At the time of your second birth, God gifted you with these traits, and they are meant to grow and flourish in your life.

If you’re reading this and thinking, “I don’t see these qualities in my life,” it’s a signal to pause and reflect. Just as the fruit on a tree reveals its true nature, the characteristics you exhibit reveal the authenticity of your transformation. If the fruit of the Spirit isn’t visible in your life, it may be time to have a heart-to-heart with God.

Remember, Christian kindness and all the other aspects of the Fruit of the Spirit come from a transformed life, not from mere learning. It’s not about adopting new behaviors superficially but about allowing God’s Spirit to work deeply within you, transforming you from the inside out.

Take a moment to assess the fruit in your life. Are you reflecting the characteristics of a life transformed by Christ? If not, seek God earnestly. Invite Him to cultivate these qualities in you and embrace the full reality of your new life in Him. Your life is a living testament to the power of the Holy Spirit at work within you.
