The God of Peace
“Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will.”- Hebrews 13:20-21
Worry has a way of creeping into your life, doesn’t it? Maybe it’s your health, your finances, your children, or even your future. What are you worried about today? It’s easy to get caught up in anxiety, feeling like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. But here’s a question for you: are you a child of God?
If your life has been changed by a relationship with Jesus, then you are not defined by worry. Hebrews 13:20 calls Him the "Great Shepherd of the sheep," and this is where your hope lies. It’s not just His redemption that makes Him good, it’s His resurrection that makes Him great. Jesus didn’t just lay down His life for you; He conquered death, rising from the grave and securing victory for you. He is the God of peace, and His presence in your life brings peace, no matter what you’re facing.
You see, worry takes root when we forget who Jesus really is and what He’s done. Romans 8:37 tells us that we are "more than conquerors" through Him who loves us. Think about that for a moment, because of Jesus, you are not just surviving; you’re victorious. So why let worry take up space in your life when the God of peace is with you?
Hebrews 13 reminds us that it was God who raised Jesus from the dead, and that same power is at work in your life today. He equips you with everything good to do His will. When you trust in the Great Shepherd, He gives you what you need to face any challenge. His peace is not just a temporary relief. It is a deep, abiding presence that holds you steady, no matter what the circumstances.
If you’re worried today, remember that the One who conquered death is leading you. The Great Shepherd is watching over you, and His peace is available to you right now. Trust in Him, and let His presence replace your worry with peace.
