The Source of Your Strength
"His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness." – 2 Peter 1:3
Here’s the truth. You don’t have the power to build a godly home on your own. And the good news is you were never meant to. The pressure to be perfect, to do everything right, to hold it all together? That’s not a weight you’re supposed to carry by yourself.
2 Peter 1:3 gives you a promise. “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness.” God has given you everything you need to build your house. Not through your own strength. Not through your own wisdom. But through His power working in you and through you.
A wise homemaker operates by the power of God. She doesn’t rely on her own ability to do what needs to be done. She understands that without Him, her efforts will fall short. But when she’s plugged into His strength, there’s nothing He can’t accomplish through her.
Proverbs 31:25-31 shows the beauty of a life built on God’s power. “Strength and honor are her clothing, and she can laugh at the time to come.” That’s not because life is easy. It’s because she knows where her strength comes from. She knows that God is her source of wisdom, courage, and grace.
Her influence goes beyond just doing good things. It’s about operating from a place of godly wisdom. “Her mouth speaks wisdom, and loving instruction is on her tongue.” She’s not speaking from a place of stress and striving. She’s speaking from a place of strength and peace.
Her family sees it. They recognize her faithfulness. “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also praises her.” The impact of a life surrendered to God’s power is undeniable. And it’s not just seen within her home. It’s recognized by others as well.
But here’s what you have to remember. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being dependent. The only reason she’s able to bless her family and others is because she’s operating by God’s power, not her own.
So the question is, are you tapping into His power or trying to do it all on your own? Are you allowing His strength to carry you when yours runs out? Because God has given you everything you need to fulfill your calling. And when you rely on Him, your work matters. It makes a difference even when it’s hard to see on the surface.
Keep building with His strength. Because what you’re building is worth it.
