Christ Is Your Life
"When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory." - Colossians 3:4
If someone asked you to define what it means to be a Christian, what would you say? I think the simplest and most accurate way to put it is this: Christ is your life. That’s real Christianity. It’s not about Jesus being a part of your life or even an important piece of it. It’s not about making Him one slice of the pie that makes up your life.
Being a Christian means Christ is your life. Everything else is built around Him. Paul put it plainly in Philippians 1:21 when he said, “For me, to live is Christ.” He wasn’t just being poetic. He was describing what it looks like to have Jesus at the center of everything.
Jesus didn’t come to earth, die on the cross, and rise from the dead just to be your Sunday activity or your convenient safety net. He’s not some weekend boyfriend you fit into your schedule when it works for you. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. That means He deserves your full attention and devotion.
A true Christian is someone who wakes up thinking about Jesus and goes to bed thinking about Jesus. Someone who spends their days seeking Him, serving Him, and telling others about Him.
Can you honestly say that Christ is your life? Is He the One you build everything around, or is He just one of many things you try to fit into your busy life?
If you belong to Him, the promise is clear. When He appears, you will appear with Him in glory. That’s the reward of making Jesus your life. It’s not about perfection. It’s about devotion. It’s about living with Jesus at the center of everything you do.
