The God Who Never Sleeps
"Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." - Psalm 121:4
The United States Secret Service is considered one of the most elite security teams in the world. Every single day, they protect the President and his family, preventing tragedy and constantly staying alert. But even the best security team is made up of people who get tired, hungry, and distracted. No matter how skilled they are, it’s impossible for anyone to stay alert one hundred percent of the time.
But what about God? The Bible tells us that our Protector never slumbers or sleeps. When you belong to Him, you serve a God who watches over you every single second of every single day. He’s not just good at His job. He’s perfect at it. He doesn’t take breaks. He doesn’t get tired. He never loses focus.
Six times in six verses, Psalm 121 reminds us that God is our Protector. His attention never wavers. He’s always alert and completely aware of everything going on in your life. There’s never a moment where God isn’t paying attention. He doesn’t miss anything.
Think about that. Even when you feel overwhelmed or afraid, God is still right there, watching over you. He’s not distracted. He’s not too busy with someone else’s problems. His eyes are always on you, fully aware of what you’re going through.
Psalm 28:7 says, “The Lord is my strength and my shield.” That’s a promise of protection. It means nothing can get to you that doesn’t first go through Him. He’s your shield, guarding you, guiding you, and working everything together for your good.
Does that mean life will always be easy? No. But it does mean you can trust Him, even when you don’t understand what’s happening. He’s always paying attention, and He has a good plan for your life.
The next time you feel anxious or overwhelmed, remember that your God is never asleep. He’s fully aware, fully alert, and fully in control. And He’s watching over you with a love that never fails.

I always enjoy reading. your messages. They bring a lot of insight into my life. I know this is an irrelevant question, but why, if God never sleeps or grows tired, did He rest on the 7th day? I'm not trying to be picky, but I have always wondered about this.
