Now and Forever

"For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught." - Proverbs 3:26

What does it mean for the Lord to protect your life now and forever? It means that if you’re a child of the King, then you are His child forever. That’s not something that comes and goes based on your performance. It’s a relationship secured by Jesus Himself.

A lot of people struggle with the idea of eternal security. They worry that if they mess up or fall into sin, they’ll lose their salvation. But that’s not what the Bible teaches. Watchman Nee once told a story about a new believer who was afraid of losing his salvation. Nee pointed to his well-trained dog and said, “That’s my dog. He’s obedient and a pure delight to me.” Then he pointed to his baby boy and said, “He makes messes, throws food, and causes all kinds of trouble. But who’s going to inherit my kingdom? Not my dog, my son. Because he’s my child.”

The point is clear. Your relationship with God isn’t based on how perfectly you behave. It’s based on being His child. And when you are a child of the King, you are His child forever.

Jesus promises the security you need both now and forever. He is the Creator of everything. He prepares your path, stays alert to your needs, shelters you from harm, and promises unending protection and provision. His love and security are constant, even when you feel like you’re not good enough.

But here’s the real question. Is He your source of security today? Are you trusting Him with your now and your forever? So many people put their faith in money, success, relationships, or their own efforts to feel safe and secure. But only Jesus can truly offer you the protection your soul needs.

If you’ve trusted Jesus with your life, then that security is unbreakable. Nothing can take it away. It’s not just for the good times or when you feel like you’ve got everything figured out. It’s for the moments when you feel lost, when you’ve messed up, and when life feels overwhelming.

Take a moment to honestly ask yourself. Have you trusted Jesus with your now and your forever? Because when you truly belong to Him, His protection over your life is unending. And that’s the only security that really matters.
