Truth Doesn’t Move
“For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass away from the law until all things are accomplished.” - Matthew 5:18
We live in a world that’s allergic to absolutes. The most popular belief in culture today is that truth is relative. What’s true for you doesn’t have to be true for me. Everyone gets to decide their own version of right and wrong. And as long as you’re “true to yourself,” that’s all that matters.
But Jesus tells us something completely different. He says God’s Word is unchanging. Not a single letter, not even a punctuation mark, will pass away until everything God said is fulfilled. That’s a bold statement. In fact, He goes even further and says He didn’t come to cancel the Law. He came to fulfill it.
That means truth doesn’t move. It doesn’t bend to the culture. It doesn’t evolve with the times. It doesn’t shift with popular opinion. The truth is permanent because God is permanent. He doesn’t change. So neither does His Word.
Why does this matter for you? Because if you build your life on something that moves, you will constantly be off balance. You’ll chase trends. You’ll be swayed by emotions. You’ll find yourself exhausted trying to keep up with what’s popular instead of anchored in what’s true.
But when you build your life on what God has said, on truth that doesn’t move, you’ll have clarity in the confusion. You’ll have stability in the chaos. You’ll have direction when everything else seems up for debate.
Jesus didn’t come to blur the lines between truth and falsehood. He came to draw the line with His own life. So what’s shaping your beliefs? Is it the culture around you, or the Word of God within you?
Truth doesn’t move. And if you want to live with confidence and conviction in a world full of compromise, you need to stand where the truth still stands. On the unshakable Word of God.
