Live Your Faith

“You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” – Matthew 5:48

At first glance, the verse above can feel overwhelming. Be perfect? Really? But Jesus wasn’t calling us to live flawlessly. He was calling us to grow up. The word He used, teleios, means complete, mature, fully developed. Like a diamond that’s considered perfect by a jeweler, not because it’s flawless, but because it’s whole. It’s been refined, shaped, and set apart for a purpose.

That’s what Jesus wants for you. A love that has matured beyond what the world offers. Not shallow, conditional, or performance-based. A love that mirrors the love of the Father. Full, selfless, and rooted in grace.

You’re not being asked to fake it or force it. You’re being called to live what’s already been placed inside of you. If you belong to Jesus, you have His Spirit. And the love of God has been poured out in your heart through that Spirit. That means you already have access to the kind of love this world can’t explain.

You can forgive even when it hurts. You can choose grace instead of payback. You can serve someone who wouldn’t do the same for you. That kind of love only makes sense when it comes from God. And when the world sees it in you, they get a glimpse of the One who put it there.

The invitation isn’t to try harder. The invitation is to walk closer. As you grow in Him, you become more like Him. And that’s the goal. Not perfection in performance, but maturity in love. A love that keeps showing up, even when it’s hard. A love that looks like your Father’s. That’s what it means to live your faith. Not just believe it, but let it shape you. Let it stretch you. Let it flow through you. Because when you do, you’re not just following Jesus, you’re reflecting Him.
