Build on a Living Tree
"For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." - 1 Corinthians 3:11
Picture building a treehouse with care and vision, one that looks incredible from the outside. But underneath, the tree holding it up is dead. At first, it might hold, but eventually the whole thing will fall. Not because the design was wrong, but because the foundation couldn’t support it.
That is exactly what happens when you build a family on anything other than Christ.
Plenty of homes are centered around success, busyness, or keeping everyone happy. These may feel solid for a while, but none of them can support the real weight of life. They were never meant to. They are dead trees, unable to hold what matters most. Christ is the only foundation that lasts. He is the living tree strong enough to carry your family through every season.
When Jesus is at the center, everything changes. Your home becomes more than a shared address. It becomes a place where His presence is welcomed, where truth is lived out, and where love flows from Him into every part of your life. Moments around the dinner table become ministry. Conversations shift from shallow to shaping. Struggles turn into sanctification.
This kind of foundation takes intention. It means building rhythms around God’s Word. It means praying together, worshiping together, and making decisions that reflect faith instead of fear. It means putting Christ at the core and refusing to let anything else take His place.
Do not spend your life building something that will collapse. Build something that lasts. Build on what is living. A home rooted in Jesus will stand long after the storms have passed. It will not fall because its foundation is alive.
