Don’t Just Sit There
"We weren’t saved to show up, sit, or soak. We were saved to be sent." - Colossians 4:3
You were not saved to be stationary. God did not rescue you from sin just to keep you comfortable in a seat. He saved you with a purpose and planted you with a mission. The gospel was never meant to stop with you. It reached you so it could move through you.
Paul understood that clearly. That is why, in his letters, you often hear him asking for boldness, for open doors, for opportunities to speak the truth of Christ clearly. He lived sent.
It is easy to settle into routines and think that showing up is enough. You go to church, listen to sermons, and maybe even join a Bible study or small group. But if your faith never moves beyond consuming content, you are missing the point. This life in Christ is not a spectator sport. It is a calling. And you were not called to the sidelines. You were called to the field.
God has people in your life who need the hope you carry. There are conversations waiting to happen, prayers waiting to be prayed, and lives waiting to be impacted. But they will not be reached by silence or by passivity. You have to move. Not recklessly, but intentionally. Not for applause, but for the glory of the One who saved you.
There is work to be done. Not to earn salvation, but because you already have it. The same grace that rescued you is the grace that fuels your mission. So do not sit and soak. Stand up and serve. Speak up and share. Let your life become a megaphone for the mercy of God. The mission is not optional. It is the natural overflow of a life that has truly been changed.
You have the message. You have the Spirit. You have the commission. Now get moving.
