I Am Chosen
“There is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.” – Romans 3:11
We like to think that we found God, but the truth is that God found us first. Long before we ever reached for Him, He was reaching for us. Scripture reminds us that none of us naturally seek after God. Left to ourselves, we drift toward our own desires and our own way. Yet even in our wandering, God pursues us with love that refuses to give up.
Being chosen means that God made the first move. He sought you when you were lost. He called you when you were far from Him. He opened your eyes to see your need for grace and invited you into a relationship that you could never have earned. Salvation is not the result of our search for God. It is the result of His search for us.
From the beginning of time, God has been writing a story of pursuit. He pursued Adam and Eve in the garden after they sinned. He pursued Israel when they turned away. He pursued the world by sending His Son to save us. Every salvation story begins with a pursuing God who refuses to let us stay lost.
When God chooses us, He does not do it out of obligation. He does it out of love. He saw your sin and still wanted you. He saw your weakness and still called you. That is the beauty of grace. God does not choose the perfect. He chooses the willing. He takes broken people and gives them new life, new purpose, and new identity in Christ.
You may not always feel chosen, but feelings do not change truth. God has already declared your worth by sending His Son to the cross. He made the first move toward you, and His invitation still stands.
If you have placed your faith in Jesus, you can live with confidence knowing you did not find God by chance. He found you on purpose. You are not an accident of grace. You are the result of divine pursuit. Every step of your story is proof that you are chosen and deeply loved by Him.
