Alive on Purpose
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:10
When God saved you, He did far more than pull you out of sin. He brought you into purpose. Salvation is not just about what you were rescued from; it’s about what you were rescued for. God’s grace did not just save your life. It gave your life meaning.
Paul says we are God’s workmanship. The word he uses paints the picture of a masterpiece, something carefully designed and intentionally crafted by the Creator. You are not an accident or a random collection of talents and experiences. You are a work of divine design, created with purpose in mind. Everything about you: Your personality, your story, your gifts. They have been shaped to bring glory to God.
God’s grace is not the finish line. It is the starting point. He saved you so that your life could point others to Him. Every believer has been assigned a mission. It might not look the same for everyone, but the goal is the same. To reflect the goodness of God through how we live, love, and serve.
Good works do not earn salvation, but they are evidence of it. When you walk in obedience to God, when you serve others, and when you show kindness and mercy, you are living out the purpose He created you for. Those good works were not random opportunities. They were prepared for you long before you were even born.
Many people spend their lives searching for meaning, trying to figure out why they are here. The answer is simple yet powerful. You are here to glorify God. That is your purpose, and everything else in life flows from it.
Your salvation was never meant to sit still. You are alive for a reason. Live in a way that reflects the One who made you new. Let your faith move your hands, your words, and your heart toward His mission. You were saved on purpose and for a purpose, and God intends to use your life to show the world who He is.
