Held Together by Christ

“He is before all things, and by him all things hold together.” - Colossians 1:17

Some days can feel like you are just barely holding it together. Energy is low. Emotions are heavy. Motivation comes and goes. You still show up, still function, still smile when needed, but inside, you know how close everything feels to unraveling. That quiet exhaustion can make faith feel fragile.

What steadies moments like that is remembering who is actually doing the holding. Scripture does not say you hold your life together. It says Christ does. The same Jesus who sustains galaxies, keeps stars in place, and orders creation also sustains weary and broken lives. Nothing about you is too small for His attention. Nothing you carry is too heavy for His strength.

When life feels overwhelming, the instinct is to push harder. Try more. Fix faster. But pressure does not create stability. Trust does. Jesus was never asking you to become stronger than your situation. He invites you to lean on the One who already is.

Consider how comforting that truth really is. The world does not spin by chance. Creation does not hold together by luck. Everything exists because Christ actively sustains it. If He can keep the universe from collapsing, He can keep your heart steady in the middle of confusion. If He can hold history together, He can hold you through grief, uncertainty, and fatigue.

Brokenness does not disqualify you from His care. Weariness does not push Him away. In fact, weakness often becomes the place where His presence feels closest. Jesus does not require you to be composed or confident. He simply asks you to trust that He is enough when you are not.

Life may still feel messy. Circumstances may not change overnight. But peace grows when you realize you are not alone in the struggle. You are not barely surviving on your own strength. You are being held by Christ.

Let that truth settle in. You do not need to glue the pieces together or pretend everything is fine. The responsibility to sustain your life was never yours to carry. Christ is holding you, steady and secure, and He will never let go.

Dealing with illness and issues in my immediate family. How comforting to confirm that Jesus is more than enough.

I needed this today. Some days I am overcome by depression . I know that God is my strength and refuge. That He loves me unconditionally. Thank you for sharing your heart with all.
