Finding Peace In The Quiet Waiting
“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” - Lamentations 3:25–26
If you have ever climbed into a deer stand long before dawn, you know waiting takes patience and trust. Sitting there in the cold, not knowing what the morning will bring, reminds us that some things are beyond our control. We prepare, we do all we can, but the outcome is still in God's hands.
Our walk with God is much like this quiet discipline. We live in a world that expects instant answers, but God often asks us to wait and trust His perfect timing. Just as David waited years for God's promise to be fulfilled, you might be waiting for an answer to prayer or for a change in your circumstance. In Psalm 27:14, David reminds us, "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Times of waiting are not wasted when we put our hope in God. Remember, life is better together. Share your burdens with your church family, invite others into your waiting, and strengthen one another in faith. During these seasons, choose to worship instead of worry, and dig deep into Scripture. God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, let’s walk in it together.
Even when waiting feels hard, creation reminds us that the sun will rise and God’s faithfulness remains. Trust that God is at work, even when His timeline is different from ours.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, waiting is not easy. Help us to trust You when the world is silent and answers feel far away. Give us strength to choose faith over worry, and peace as we lean on Your promises. Remind us that You are always working, even when we cannot see it. We hope in You alone. In Jesus' name, amen.
