LETTING GO AND LETTING GOD

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10

Yielding control is a challenging but essential part of our faith journey. It means letting go of our need to control every aspect of our lives and allowing God to work in and through us. Psalm 46:10 reminds us to “Be still, and know that I am God.”

Our natural tendency is to control, to plan meticulously, to foresee every outcome, and to rely on our own strength. But the truth is, we are not in ultimate control of our lives. God is the sovereign Creator, and He holds the universe together.

Yielding control involves a profound shift in our perspective. It’s an acknowledgment that God’s plans are greater than our own, and His ways are beyond our understanding. It requires us to let go of the burden of self-reliance and surrender it into His capable hands.

Letting go of control begins with trust. We must trust that God’s intentions for us are good and that He has a purpose for every circumstance, even when it doesn’t align with our own plans. It’s recognizing that His wisdom surpasses our limited understanding.

In practical terms, yielding control means praying for surrender, being flexible, letting go of worry, embracing God’s timing, and resting in His promises.

What area(s) of your life are you holding onto control? Is it in your career, relationships, or personal aspirations? In prayer, surrender those areas to God. Trust that as you yield control, He will work His perfect plan in your life.

Remember that yielding control is an ongoing process. It’s a daily choice to release your grip and allow God’s wisdom and sovereignty to guide you. When you let go and let God, you’ll experience a profound sense of freedom and peace, knowing that the One who holds the universe is also holding you.
